​Dr. Ganesh Raj Joshi

Dr. Ganesh Raj Joshi is an accomplished expert in resource economics environmental science. He holds a Ph.D. in Resource Economics and Policy from the University of the Philippines, with extensive experience in academia, research, and government roles. Dr. Joshi's career has seen him serve as Permanent Secretary in various ministries, where he contributed to policy formulation in areas like sustainable agriculture and forestry, climate change, biodiversity, and tourism. He also served as acting Chief Commissioner in Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority. His dedication to research and knowledge generation is evident through numerous publications in the fields of climate change, agriculture, environmental science, and governance.
Currently, he is Adjunct Professor in Agriculture & Forestry University and Visiting Professor in Tribhuvan University Nepal. He is actively participating in international initiatives, such as serving as a Lead Author for IPBES Assessment on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services. He used to be a Board of Directors for APFNet, where he contributed to promote sustainable forest management. He is also a former Humbold Research Fellow of Germany. Dr. Joshi's educational background, work experience, research contributions, and international involvement make him a distinguished expert in resource economics and environmental science.
